    Experience sushi making at a major sushi restaurant in Asakusa that obtained Halal Certification.  Not only nigiri (hand-pressed) sushi but also you can try temaki (hand roll) sushi and your original sushi as well. Popular aburi (grilled) sushi is also available.     Sushiken, opened in Asakusa in 2002, sticks to using quality
    rice and warm hospitality of the staff.  Please come to the venue before
    the starting time.  We recommend walking through Senso-ji Temple or
    Kappabashi kitchen street as our shop is located within the walking distance
    from Asakusa.

    Sushi is made by hand.  Get off your watch and ring, and
    wash your hands throughly.  You will prepare sushi wearing plastic
    gloves this time.  Put on happi coat and hat like a sushi chef and you
    are ready to start!

    Sushi rice is also called "Shari"  Sushi rice is
    a special preparation of rice flavored with rice vinegar, sugar, and
    salt. The sushi chef will explain how to shape the rice.  Please
    pay attention to his practiced hand. 

  • 4. Experience making nigiri (hand-pressed) sushi

    Let's make nigishi sushi!  The proper amount of rice is
    about the size of a ping-pong ball.  It may be difficult at first but
    try to shape the rice being not too hard but not too soft.  Place your
    favorite "neta" (topping) on the shari. 
  • 5. Experience making temaki (hand roll) sushi

    5. Experience making temaki (hand roll) sushi
    Temaki sushi is a new type of sushi spread in the past 20 to 30
    years.  Place rice and fillings (raw fish, cucumber, and daikon radish
    sprouts, etc.) on nori (a little larger than an adult's palm) and fold
    it into corn shape.  The tips are to keep the amout of rice and neta
    small.

    Using the technique you just learned, make your original sushi.
     Choose your favorite neta and shape the sushi as you like. 
  • 7. Enjoy sushi with miso soup

    7. Enjoy sushi with miso soup
    Taste your sushi with our vaunted miso soup.  At sushi
    restaurants, soup stock is taken from the bony parts of fish and shrimp
    shell.  So it tastes especially great with sushi.

    look much better on you.  Let's take a picture with everyone.  You
